A university project, 2012

The World Font

About
The World Font is one of my early university projects. We had an assignment to create a custom font, so I decided to make something very special. My purpose was to show equality between people of different races. Whether black or white, indian or arab - there are no boundaries except the ones we build on our own.

The World Font symbolizes this equality exactly in one way: language as the very fundamental communication tool between two human beings. Different alphabets shape letters forming an overall picture of an equal type font.

Fun fact: Googling my name will mostly result in images of this font :)
“If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head.
If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.”
Nelson Mandela

I’m proud of this project as it was featured on mulitple art pages. I even got a special mention by the belgian computer scientist and professor Luc Devroye :)
